It is believed that the term “yellow Journalism” was named after the Yellow Kid comics that ran in newspapers at the time. Here are two examples of the comic:
Many would argue that yellow journalism was at its worst in regards to Hearst’s and Pulitzer’s coverage surrounding the Spanish-American War. Some have gone so far to accuse their newspapers as the cause of the United State’s entry into the war with Spain.
